Indigenous Economies

Empowering self-determined economic futures

Overview

A strategic report for Kamehameha Schools synthesising research and stakeholder input to identify in‑flight opportunities and align with KS priorities. Includes sector-specific case studies highlighting Indigenous global perspectives with actionable recommendations, plus a growing directory of organisations to enable knowledge exchange.

Approach

In a rapid, collaborative process with Matariki Group and Kamehameha Schools, we listened first, aligned purpose and audience, set evaluation criteria, and mapped opportunity areas. We translated insights into a clear framework, sector scans, a directory of Indigenous organisations, and ready-to-use assets, while fostering connections to support international knowledge sharing.

Outcomes

A focused strategy, prioritised opportunities, a sector case study suite, and an active directory to brief stakeholders, attract partners, strengthen relationships across Indigenous organisations, and accelerate pilots—supporting sustainable investment and implementation in Hawai‘i.
